Sign Petition – DOW out of Olympics

US Olympic Committee, Don't Forget Bhopal Tragedy in India!

Take Action On This Issue

On 3 December 1984 thousands of tons of deadly chemicals leaked from Union Carbide’s pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. As a result over 25,000 people died. Over 100,000 have serious health problems. US-based Dow Chemical now owns Union Carbide and refuses to decontaminate the site, provide adequate compensation to victims, or appear in Indian courts. Tell the US Olympic Committee that human rights and corporate accountability matter, and that it convey to the International Olympic Committee Americans' serious concerns about Dow's failure to address the fallout from the Bhopal tragedy. Read More »

The Olympics are a platform for the people from across the globe to share and collectively celebrate with each whatever they value. Either it is their sporting abilities, their team spirit or their country flag or simply the smile of the victor and the sulk of the defeated. It is a grand moment of emotional unity where only the pure human emotions triumph over everything else. The Olympics games have always been a platform for the world community to show the vulnerable that we do care for them. And this CANNOT be done by inviting and placing perpetrators of heinous crimes on the top pedestal.
If we really care for the human life we so dearly celebrate let us not forget millions here in Bhopal who are serving a punishment they truly dont deserve. Let us give a moment's thought to the  hearts of those parents who can never see their children play any sport nor celebrate any victory.

If you were that parent, you would have probably given your life just to see a single smile on your childs face. Let us give up a little luxury by boycotting Dow Chemicals.

    Thank you
