US Olympic Committee, Don't Forget Bhopal Tragedy in India!
On 3 December 1984 thousands of tons of deadly chemicals leaked from Union Carbide’s pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. As a result over 25,000 people died. Over 100,000 have serious health problems. US-based Dow Chemical now owns Union Carbide and refuses to decontaminate the site, provide adequate compensation to victims, or appear in Indian courts. Tell the US Olympic Committee that human rights and corporate accountability matter, and that it convey to the International Olympic Committee Americans' serious concerns about Dow's failure to address the fallout from the Bhopal tragedy.
